Maya Abdominal Massage is an external, non-invasive manipulation beneficial for women and men. Using only the hands to reposition organs that have shifted and thereby restricted the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi, Maya Abdominal Massage releases physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. Once free of these restrictions, the abdomen is able to function in an optimum manner to process the flow of nutrients and emotions central to our well being.
Maya Abdominal Massage is an ancient treatment that has been known and practiced by generations of indigenous healers, midwives and shamans in villages and healing temples for thousands of years, but has since been forgotten or suppressed. The current medicine of technology tends to focus on relieving symptoms rather than addressing the causes of disease. We do not cure disease. We work in the realm of divine science, removing the obstructions and deterrents to Nature's Healing Force.
The techniques used in this form of massage were developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo who lived in Central America for over thirty years. She was honored to become an apprentice to Don Elijio Panti, a renowned Mayan healer and shaman of Belize, as well as several village herbal midwives. It was here, with hard work and dedication, that Rosita learned and refined these ancient healing techniques.
This treatment assists the vital flow of fluids and energy to nourish and repair the organs and systems. By addressing the congested abdomen, the progression of symptoms to chronic disease is prevented. In addition to benefitting digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, constipation, indigestion and gastritis, abdominal therapy can be an aid in gender specific conditions such as prostate symptoms in men and the variety of symptoms that can be caused by a displaced uterus in women.
